This beautiful work provides a nearly complete record of the flowers, fruits, and vegetables cultivated in the early 18th century. The plates are among the earliest examples of color printing from a single plate. This plate depicting various squashes is one of the few large, folding plates from the collection. <br><br> Full title reads, "a. Cucurbita angulosa amara. b. Cucurbita medio arocea maculata. c. Cucurbita oblonga subcrocea. d. Cucurbita pomi aurantii facie. e. Cucurbita plana pomiformis alba. f. Cucurbita rotunda, verrucis majoribus armata. g. Cucurbita rotunda verrucosa."
