From "Plantes Tinneennes ou Descriptions de Quelques Unes des Plantes. . . " by Alexandrine P.F. and John A. Tinne. <br><br> This fascinating work on central African and Nile River flora contains the botanical findings of a disastrous expedition up the White Nile in 1861-64. Three Dutch women started on the expedition, two perished along the way. <br><br> Cyperus colymbetes is a species of sedge native to eastern Africa.
