  • DESCRIPTION: Whistler was never at ease in the countryside and made very few prints of pure landscape. This plate, sometimes incorrectly called " Kensington Gardens," was made about 1859 when Whistler accompanied his brother-in-law, Seymour Haden, on sketching expeditions to Greenwich Park. The plate is known to have been canceled or destroyed. <br><br>
