  • DESCRIPTION: William IV (1765-1837) was a King of Britain, but he only held the crown for 7 years before his death. He was nicked named the "Sailor King" due to his years in the Royal Navey, though he saw little confict during the time period. During his reign as king he abolished slavery in most of the Bristish Empire and made new laws to help the poor and restrict child labor.
