Printed by Endicott & Co. New York. Sketched & Lith. by C. Parsons. Signed and dated "C. Parsons, 1862" in the stone. Parson's was one of the best draftsman of marine images in the 19th century. He worked for Endicott & Co. and Currier & Ives. A dramatic image of one of John Ericsson's monitors weathering heavy seas.
