DESCRIPTION: From "Meyer's Universum." Herrmann Meyer is known for his small but very well engraved views of various towns and scenes in America. Details include a child with a hoop & harbor scene. "The giant hotel was located on Broadway between Vesey and Barclay Streets. Opened in 1836, it was considered for many years the finest hotel in the country. The old building was demolished in 1926."
