A detailed and nicely colored map from "Atlas of Long Island, New York. From recent and actual surveys and records." Many land owners names are given. Rockville Center is now part of Nassau County, Long Island. When Queens became part of New York City in 1898 Nassau County was born from the towns of North Hempstead, Hempstead and Oyster Bay. This maps also shows a little community called Christian Hook, which today would lie where Long Beach Road and Foxhurst Road intersect in the northern part of Oceanside township. Maps , Maps
