The Luxor obelisk is believed to have been carved around 1300 BCE and originally stood outside the Luxor Temple in Egypt. It was installed in the Place de la Concorde in Paris in 1836, and was classified as a historical monument in 1936. It stands 74.9 feet (22.83 metres) tall.
