DESCRIPTION: A view of the Woman's Building used in the 1893 Columbian Exposition, Chicago, IL. Sophia Hayden was the architect. Alice Rideout was the head sculptor. Enid Yandell designed the rooftop garden and caryatid. Candace Wheeler was the interior decorator. <br><br> The Women's Building was petitioned for and constructed to showcase successful women across a variety of fields; science, art, literature, music, etc. It was the largest collection of women's work at the time and would not be replicated for many years.
