Throop, D.C. <br><br> This unusual plan shows a reverse seating arrangement in the House in an effort to improve the acoustics. This change did not have the desired effect and very quickly was changed back.<br><br> = All of the representatives and their states are names. James K. Polk is Speaker of the House.

CONDITION: Fair condition only. At one time the piece was folded into quarters and split along to folds. Losses and short tears along sheet edges. Backed on thin rice paper.
