  • DESCRIPTION: Copper engraving by J. Dudley. From Weld's "Travels through States of North America," London, 1798-9. This view is essentially the same as Garrison's 1784 scene. It even includes the artist sketching at left. Taken from the southwest, the engraving shows developement along both sides of Market Street. Located at the junction of Monocracy Creek and the Leigh River, Bethlehem was famous as an early Moravian settlement.
