  • DESCRIPTION: Printed by Spiral Press, run by Joseph Blumenthal, he is noted for printing fine press books. Issue 3 of the Colophon was printed in 2000 copies in September of 1930. 96 pages + 1 original unsigned wood engraving by Howard Cook, quarto (4to) hardcover with gold metallic ink title. The title of the Howard Cook wood engraving is “Paris Street” it was done specially for The Colophon Howard Cook did several projects with Spiral Press. Total edition was 2100, 2000 for inclusion in The Colophon and 100 for signing to be sold as individual prints. Howard Cook (1901-1980) is a well known printmaker, painter and muralist who was born in Massachusetts but lived most of his life in New Mexico.

  • CONDITION: Good condition, scratching on the gold metallic ink on the cover. Book has been placed in a protective mylar wrap.
