In 1869 by Commodore John E. Roosevelt (President Franklin D. Roosevelt's uncle) had one of the largest Hudson River ice boats built - called "Icicle. She was the largest and fastest iceboat on the river in that era.

A charming scene of the Hudson River’s past showing ice boat racing and a classic American 4-4-0 steam locomotive on the far bank. This piece is in good condition with full original color and wide margins. There are a few minor discoloration marks in the margins – much subtler to the eye than the photograph shows.
