This is a plate from the standard edition of "The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt & Nubia", from drawings made on the spot by David Roberts R.A.. Lithographed by Louis Haghe of the firm Day & Haghe, one of the earliest lithograph publishers of England, these prints were published in six volume sets over a span of eight years (1841-49).

Karnak comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings near Luxor in Egypt.
