This work was issued to commemorate the French military role in the American Revolution, this collection was one of the first few contemporary publications to illustrate scenes from that conflict<br><br> A view of the surrender of Major General John Bourgoyne at Saratoga in October 1777. Burgoine is shown surrendering his sword to another soldier. Also includes cannons, battalions of soldiers, musical instruments such as drum and cymbals, guns or muskets, and flags.
