A scarce view of the New York Stock Exchange at Wall and Broad Streets based on a rendering by Hughson Hawley. This image shows the newly renovated building by the architect James Renwick, Jr. which was completed in 1882. This building did not last long and was replaced by todays familiar building in 1903. One interesting feature shown on the print are the beginnings of the massive telegraph lines that criss-crossed the city at the time.

Hughson Hawley (1850-1936) was one of the foremost architectural illustrators of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
