Deak.<br><br> The lithographers Emil Klauprecht and Adolphus Menzel worked in partnership in Cincinnati for almost twenty years. Emil Klauprecht is credited with publication of the first lithograph in Cincinnati. although it seems that it was Adolphus Menzel who was actually the firm lithographer. The firm of Klauprecht & Menzel began in about 1836 from a shop on the south side of Fifth Street, west of Walnut. The firm published a number early lithographs, as well as an important and rare German-American periodical entitled Fliegende Bl├Ątter in the period 1846-1847.


  • CONDITION: Fair to good condition. Narrow right margin, several short tears and very faint damp stain in the upper left portion of the image.
