  • DESCRIPTION: A fine early separately issued pocket map of New York.<br><br> The main map depicts Manhattan to 32nd St. Along the top is an inset map showing northern Manhattan and another of Jersey City. The city is outlined in color by ward. Within this are smaller red outlines that denote fire districts along with a printed number which represents "the number of strokes of the fire bells for the district in which the fire may be." Ferry routes are noted and a number of wharfs identified. Retains original covers.<br><br> Drawn & Engraved by John M. Atwood.<br><br>
