• DESCRIPTION: A handsome map showing the New York Central, Hudson River, Rome, Watertown, & Ogdensburg railroads, and their connections.<br><br> This map advertises the railroad as the "Only four-track railroad in the world," and "Operating the fastest and most Perfect Through Train Service in the World, Equipped with New and Elegant Sleeping, Drawing-Room, and Dining Cars of the Wagner Palace Car Company." The railway shows an area Maine to St Louis, northward to Minneapolis - St. Paul and includes most major cities as well as vacation spots such as the Catskill Mountains, Berkshire Hills, Green Mountains, Niagara Falls, and Chicago where the World's Columbian Exposition was taking place at the time. An inset in the lower left shows Cornelius Vanderbilt’s original building of the station which was torn down and replaced with the station that we see today.
