DESCRIPTION: Favorite Franklin aphorisms.<br><br> Engraved by Oliver Pelton. Twenty-four rondelles, each a scene and an adage from Franklin's almanac. In the center is a portrait of Franklin. Decorative oak leaf acanthus surround each of the rondelles.<br><br> The same plate was used in at least 3 Boston printings from 1859 to 1887. The publisher of this print is Thomas Oliver Hazard Perry Burnham of Essex, Massachusetts. was born in Essex in 1814, and in the mid to late 1800’s he became a successful and affluent business man in Boston. He passed in 1891.
