DESCRIPTION: This print, from Anstice’s New York Street Views, shows New York City Hall as it appeared around 1850. Located at the center of City Hall Park in Lower Manhattan, between Broadway, Park Row, and Chambers Street, New York City Hall has served as the seat of city government since its completion in 1812. It remains the oldest city hall in the United States that still houses its original governmental functions.
