Lundgren.<br> The title translates to: Map of the southern part of Sweden and Norway or the former so-called Scandinavia: compiled by His Majesty the King's most gracious command in accordance with the most reliable reports, under the direction and supervision of Carl af Forsell, Stockholm.<br><br> An amazingly detailed large-scale map of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. One of the finest produced in the early 19th century.<br><br> Carl Gustaf af Forsell (1783-1848), Swedish cartographer, who in 1804-09 was involved in Hermelin's great cartography. In connection with the union with Norway in 1814, he was commissioned by King Charles XIV Johan to make a map of both countries. The map goes up in Sweden just above Angermanland and in Norway to Namdalen.<br><br>
ADDITIONAL INFO: Retains four original slip cases, two maps per case. Slip cases are in fair condition only.
CONDITION: Overall in very good condition. There is some minor damp staining and or splits along some edges. Fine original hand coloring.
