DESCRIPTION: Construction of the High Bridge began in 1837 and finished in 1848, completing its end of the Croton Aqueduct . At the time it served as a major water source for the city of New York, and connected Manhattan to the Brox. The bridge was closed for nearly half a century before being re-opened to the public in 2015. <br><br>
