  • DESCRIPTION: The exploit of Charles Blondin, who crossed Niagara on a tight-rope in 1859 was used as a base for the cartoonists. Three of the four rival presidential candidates are here trying to cross the chasm between North and South. Abraham Lincoln is shown on his "rail" being not- so gracefully balanced on Abolition Rock by Horace Greely.
