  • DESCRIPTION: Title continues "Bowles's Monthly Florist. Displaying in Twelve Prints a Curious Collection of the Most Beautiful flowers Assigned to their proper Months of blowing. All Drawn from Nature. when in their Greatest Perfection. . . ." This edition is not listed in Dunthorne's "Flower and Fruit Prints..." There is little doubt, however, that the plates used to print this edition are the same used by Carington's father, John Bowles, when he published them under the title "Flora, or a curious collection of ye most Beautiful Flowers. . . ." in 1749.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Set of thirteen, twelve months in flowers and title page. Set of twelve framed in 18th-century receding brown and gold molding. The title page is framed in a simulated 18th-century molding matching the set of twelve.
