Seventh state of seven. "Romany Marye was important as one of the first real 'tea room' hostesses. It would be wrong to call her places tea rooms, but she only sold liquor in the last few years and then under pressure from a partner. She could attract a lot of artists writers with her hospitality, kindness, and humor. Dolly Sloan spent a lot of time there, but I never went in for tea table conversations." (JS 1950).
