The twenty-volume series recorded the various Native American cultures spread across the country, although it also contained Euro-American biases which were typical of the time. Each of the descriptive volume were accompanied by a portfolio of large photogravure plates.<br><br> The Pomo people are indigenous to northern California. They were traditionally noted for being one of the wealthier Native American Tribes thanks to rich natural resources in their region. They were also well known for their basketry and beadmaking.
