  • DESCRIPTION: Andrew McNally, III, center and his brother Frederick George McNally right. Andrew joined the family business of Rand McNally & Company in 1931, he became its president in 1948 and served as chairman until 1993. He made many changes as president including the acquisition of W. B. Conkey Company in Hammond, Indiana in 1949. We also know that during this period they purchased a company that had a process of making topographical globes. The two gentleman in this photo are standing in front of a large topographical globe showing North America, behind them is an extremely large circular map of the world from the North Pole.
