A wonderful image of a 4-4-0 engine.<BR><BR> The Lowell Machine Shop founded in 1824 originally a produced mills for the textile industry. In 1835 George Washington Whistler directed the production of its first locomotive and within three years it produced 32 locomotive engines.

  • CONDITION: Good condition and color overall. On the lower left edge an 8" tear into the image into the car professionally repaired. Some minor marginal tears in the right hand side and a small water stain in the title margin.
