Richard Lubell

Mr. Lubell is a widely collected printmaker who specializes in the etching processes of aquatint and chine colle. By painting directly onto the plates, his work achieves a range of tones and textures, generating fluid emotional imagery. His subjects are the human pageant as lived in urban areas, as well as beach scenes and marketplaces.  

Richard Lubell studied at the Art Students League, New York, NY; Manhattan Graphics Center, New York, NY; Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, New York, NY; Brooklyn College, and Kingsborough Community College.  He also studied with Jan Carlyle, Michael Pelletteri, Bob Blackburn, Vijay Kumar, Laurie Auerlich, and Bill Behnken.   He is a member of the Manhattan Graphics Center, New York Society of Etchers, Brooklyn Working Artists Coalition, and Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc.
