Pia Oste-Alexander studied Drawing & Tapestry Weaving at Konstfackskolan, State School of Applied Arts, Stockholm, Sweden; Painting at Kunstgewerbeschule, Vienna, Austria; Textile Printing at the State Institute of Art, Florence, Italy; Japanese Wood-Block Printing & White Line Wood-block at Women's Studio Workshop, Rosendale, New York.  

Alexander’s work has been exhibited internationally and received many awards. The most recent are the Pollock-Krasner Award, 5th Biennial Miniature Print Show - Juror's Prize; Kyoto International Woodprint Association Triennial, Japan; Belmont Towbin Annual Award; Print Council of New Jersey, National Exhibition; Yasuo Kuniyoshi Award; & the Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation, NY, NY.
