Jacob Kainen

Painter, printmaker, curator and author.  He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and studied at Pratt.  He did not like the curriculum at Pratt and the push to commercial art, his rebellion at the university caused his expulsion before he graduated.  He is known as an expressionist artist painting and prints.  He authored several books on artists and worked as curator for graphic arts for the Smithsonian.
