Martin Levine

b. 1945

Martin received his BS from Buffalo State College, NY and his MFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts. He has been teaching at Stony Brook University, NY since 1986. 

He is a past president of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA), and was elected to the National Academy of Design.  He has juried many exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Poland, Yugoslavia, and the United States. Levine has received over 120 National and International awards including a National Endowment for the Arts in Printmaking.

Levine’s work is in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Musuem, UK; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Art Institute of Chicago, Il; Library of Congress, DC; Montclair Museum, NJ; Smithsonian Museum of American Art, DC; New York Public Library; Museum of Fine Arts, MA; Zimmerli Museum of Art, NJ., among others.
