Stefan Hirsch

Painter, printmaker, Stefan Hirsch was born to American parents in Nuremberg, Germany on January 2, 1899.  He moved with his family back to the United States settling in New York City.  He worked in the circle of Hamilton Easter Field, and spent many summer’s at his school in Perkins Cove with the likes of Yasuo Kuniyoshi and Robert Laurent.  Hirsch traveled extensively throughout his life, meeting many artists including Diego Rivera in Mexico.
