William Lee Hankey was British painter and printmaker, born in Chester, England. He is well known for his figures and landscape scenes.
Hankey originally studied at the Chester School of Art before continuing on to the Royal College of Art, and ultimately Paris to continue his studies, as was common during his time. He returned to England in the 1890s, had his first exhibit at the Royal Academy in 1896, and later served as the President of the Royal Sketch Club from 1902-1904.
