1926-2017
Arturo Garcia Bustos was a Mexican painter, printmaker and muralist, born in Mexico City. He was one of four students to study with Frida Kahlo in Coyoacan, which earned him title of being one of the “los Fridos.” He also had a hand in the founding of "Artistas Jóvenes Revolucionarios." In 1957 he traveled to Korea and China to broaden his understanding of printmaking and following his return, he married artist Rina Lazo. Together they taught and lectured about art throughout Mexico and parts of Europe.
