Celanos interest in photography began at the age of 13. He served in The Army Air Corp. during WWII in the Photographic unit on Guam. On his return to civilian life he started taking photographs of the street scenes and events in New York City. He documented many of the theaters of 'Old' Broadway – theaters that have since been taken down. Nino Celano worked with The Gardner Studios, in Los Angeles, CA. & Adrian of Toronto Studios, Toronto, Canada. He lived for many years in the Dominican Republic recording the diverse beauty of people and place. He currently lives in NYC.
