Willard Harlin Mullin

1902-1978

is one of the most famous sports cartoonists of the twentieth-century. He created the infamous “Brooklyn Bum” character. He was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Los Angeles, California. His first job as a sports cartoonist was for the Los Angeles Herald but is most famous for this long career at the New York World Telegram.
