Carol Wax

1953-

Carol Wax is an American artist, teacher and author, born in New York, New York. She currently teaches printmaking at Montclair State University. Her work can be found in the likes of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Museum of American Art, Library of Congress, New York Public Library and the Boston Public Library.

She has received numerous honors and grants, including two Artist Fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, The Louise Nevelson Award for Excellence in Printmaking from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and an Individual Support Grant from the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation.

She wrote the book "The Mezzotint: History and Technique" published by Harry N. Abrams in 1990 and 1996.
