The Old Print Shop

Nancy Previs

Artist printmaker Nancy Previs has for many years been observing and recording nature’s forms, textures and tones. She is fascinated by subtleties in light and color and draws inspiration from nature’s ability to generate beauty from processes that seem spontaneous and random.  Connecting with the processes  – the life force of the landscape around us – she creates multi-plate etchings using aluminum, copper and solar plates.

Her work has been exhibited in shows in Ireland, the UK and in the US. She is a member of the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland. She is also a photographer, sound recordist, and arts writer. Among her qualifications, she holds undergraduate degrees from UMass, Amherst; The National College of Art and Design, Dublin; and a Masters degree from University College Dublin. Born and raised in Connecticut, she lives in Dublin, Ireland.
