1880-1943
Worden Wood was an American illustrator and marine painter. He served in the US Naval Reserve during the Spanish-American War in 1898 and served again in 1917, only this time he worked on the development of marine camouflage. Wood was also noted to have worked on the "Buster Brown" comic strip that was printed in the New York Herald after its creator, Richard Outcault, left for a more lucrative job.
