Lonnie Sue Johnson is an American artist who worked for many decades as an illustrator, producing work for the likes of The New York Times and The Boston Globe. Unfortunately, in 2007, she was stuck with viral encephalitis. The swelling on her brain resulted in severe damage and profound amnesia. But even though Ms. Johnson lost much of her memory-capacity, she continues to make art in the form of puzzles, although she rarely finishes a piece because of her illness.
