The Old Print Shop

Laura Einfeld

Born in New York City, she studied at Queens College and at the Art Students League where she is a life member, studying with several artists and gaining skills in life drawing and painting in different mediums, including watercolor and oil.  Her husband Neal showed her printmaking with its endless creative possibilities.  Member of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA).

“I've loved drawing, and animals, since childhood. This eventually led to many pet portrait commissions.  I also worked as an art editor for Harcourt Brace publishers, and am a dealer of vintage clothing, jewelry, and collectibles. My artist husband Neal, and I, divide our time between NYC and upstate, where we have our converted barn art studio and extensive garden.”

“I like to vary my subjects depending on what excites me at the time, but seeing that first print is always an amazing moment! The image I choose may lend itself better to a carving in wood, or to the more delicate technique of etching/aquatint, but my goal is ultimately the same: to make something beautiful.”
