Juan Gomez-Quiroz is a Chilean born artist who now resides in New York City. He studied art at a variety of colleges and universities, including the University of Chile, Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute and Yale university. It was a scholarship to RISD in 1962 that brough the artist to the United States.
Gomez-Quiroz has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions in the Americas, many of them being in New York City, and has been included in even more group exhibitions. He was the recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Arts in 1965.
His work can be found in a number of collection, including but not limited to: Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; Museum of Modern Art, NYC; Brooklyn Museum; Boston Museum of Fine Arts; New York Public Library; Museo de Bellas Artes, Santiago Chile; Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Santiago, Chili; and the Guggenheim Museum, NYC.
