Lebadang was a French artist, born in Vietnam. He immigrated to France in 1939 to study at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, and later became a French citizen. His artwork is a delicately blends between European and Asian aesthetics, which captivated the interest of many viewers over his lifetime. He had his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1950. In 1966 the Cincinnati Art Museum hosted an exhibition of his paintings, breaking him into the US market.
Lebadang had a particular love for horse and can be found in many of his works.
Artistically, Lebadang goes by two names. One is "Lebadang" and the other is "Hoi." Either name can be found signed on his work.
