Enid Mark

1932-2008

Enid Mark was an American painter, printmaker, editor and publisher. She founded the ELM Press in 1986, at which point she devoted herself to publishing "finely crafted limited editions that feature hand-lithography, letterpress printing, and archival hand binding. They have been acquired by over ninety public collections in the United States, Canada, and England." - Elm Press.

In 2006, Enid Mark received the Pennsylvania Council of Arts Fellowship in recognition for her work in book arts. She also received the Pew Fellowship in the Arts in 2001, and the Leeway Foundation Award for Achievement in 2002. Her book "The Elements" was awarded the 9th Biennial Carl Hertzog Award for Excellence in Book Design from the University of Texas/El Paso in 2004.
