Birger Sandzen

1871-1954

Birger Sandzen was a Swedish-born American artist. He studied with Anders Zorn and Richard Berg in Stockholm for a time before eventually finding his way to Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1894 to teach. He remained at the college until he retired in 1946. 

Over the course of his life, Sandzen produced well over two-thousand paintings and watercolors, and more than 300 prints, most of which were created using lithography.
