• DESCRIPTION: Engraved by Chubb & Son, London and printed by George Baxter in "Oil Colors," a difficult and time-consuming printing process. A set of six astronomical engravings were drawn by Isaac Frost to demonstrate the Muggletonian belief that the earth is at the center of the universe. Muggletonians were a Religious sect that, among other things, believed that the Earth was the center of the universe. These prints were produced as an alternative to the Newtonian beliefs of gravity and terrestrial and celestial motion. The titles of the six prints are (plates 7, 9, and 10) System According to the Holy Scriptures, and (plates 3 and 6) The Newtonian System.
