  • DESCRIPTION: A handsome large-scale chart of the waters of Buzzard Bay and the Elizabeth Islands. It’s large size enables it to provide highly detailed information on soundings; shoals, rocks and other marine hazards. Also noted are Light ships, lighthouses, buoys, currents and other navigational aids. The light houses and light ships have been hand colored in red and yellow. George Eldridge (1821-1900) produced his first chart (of Chatham Lights) in 1851. He was later joined by his son, George Washington Eldridge. The business survived well into the 20th century.

  • CONDITION: Fair to good condition. Some time toning and damp staining along upper and lower sends of sheet. Not uncommon issues for working sea charts.
