DESCRIPTION: A fine map of Mantua in the Lombardy region of Italy. From Matthew Merian's "Topographia," published in Frankfort, c. 1638. The son-in-law of Theodor de Bry, Merian's maps and engraved view are prized by collectors. The cartography was taken from Blaeu's earlier map.
